It does have a certain resemblance to the outskirts of Nidri, but as Chris said that Sivota was too far west, then this must be further east I suppose.
It also has the look of a large island, so I will guess at maybe Euboea.

I agree, it has similariities to all the places mentioned, although never been to Alonissos or Samos.Once again,this is not an island so I'm giving quite lot away here.More clues tomorrow if it is still unsolved.
I know Lydia has been in this area.......
