I did and it is !! I have learnt something, I only knew it as a helping hand and it was described as allowing the hard pressed housewife to carry on knitting while doing other chores with her free hand!!

Suspect mine was for the workers, your Google search were much more sophisticated!!

Ah ha...it's not a lookout tower but the brickwork is Roman. If I had taken the pic from another angle you would see a castle.

Well done, Susie, it is the Roman lighthouse in Dover Castle. We went there last month - we stayed in Deal for a couple of nights and visited three castles in three days - Deal, Dover and Walmer. I was all castled out!
