It was one of my favourite boys' names anyway, thirty-odd years ago!

There's a lot you can tell from family names. There are successions of Charleses and Ruperts on my mother's side.

However, these days, when naming babies, traditions are seldom taken into account any more!

Better that than the Icelandic approach where an "approved list" of names is enforced by statute.

Doesn't anyone break the rules, just for the hell of it? I'd be tempted.......
