Re: General knowledge
T'was said in jest, as a hang-on to the preceeding "shocking" comment.
However, in the absence of any other response, I'll show how much of my life is spent in front of a television ....
In a recent BBC Four science-history series, Jim Al Khalili was in Bologna, in Piazza Luigi Galvani, in front of that statue, extolling the virtues of Luigi Galvani.
Being one of those children who play with their food, Galvani attached some frog's legs across a "battery" and was entertained by their jerking and spasming. This exploit has given us the words: Galvanic, Galvanise and Galvanometer.
I think that's (sort of) all the right answers but not necessarily in the right order.

There still having been no response, I'll be peremptorily presumptuous!
Properly named (alphabetically): American, European, Major and Royal (amongst others). They are commonly called "English"!
What are they?
