We're going in September Susan. Heard some good things about it, although it's just a purpose built beach resort, off the beaten track but no old village. I think the beach is supposed to be good and it has stayed fairly undeveloped so not many tavernas. Thanks Chas, for the links.

Actually, F, it has got a bit of history.
It was a summer-season fishing village, serving Arhagelos (Archangelos) at the top of the cliff. Several of the old houses are still there, along the front, interpolated with the apartment blocks. One has the most beautiful jasmine hedge - makes the evening promenade an absolute delight.
During the main season, I'd reckon there are about two dozen tavernas/resturants in operation.
At the south end, there is a "Butlitz" complex - escapees can be recognised by the multi-coloured wrist bands they MUST WEAR AT ALL TIMES! Fortunately, not too many seem to want to escape (except across the road to "their" bit of beach).
Here's THE LINK to a few of my Stegna online piccies.

Re: Stegna.
Yes it is, we were really looking to go back to Rhodes but it was on a very good deal, £766 all inclusive, so on the others we already have booked this is just S/C or B/B price. We haven't been to Kos since 1992 so it will have chnaged a bit.
