Post by Guest Mon Mar 10, 2008 11:48 pm

Hi OC, Would love to join you and my mates in the chat room but where do I find it? Hate to sound so negative but the top of my page goes like this.
Home. Gallery. FAQ. Search (ah maybe here). Memberlist. User groups. You have no new messages. Log out chadalacus?
I have a really big problem in here that every time I post, join in the word game, I get booted and have to re-register and it's becoming a real pain in the ar**! If I eventually find the chat room I will be able to participate for a couple of posts and then get booted! By the time I come back I've missed all the fun! Really I'd rather not bother (frustrates me no end) but just for you I'll try. Don't hold your breathe though........! Laughing

This is really wierd. Under the tool bar should be a blank box with the heading 'Chatbox'. In the left hand corner, click on 'login' and you should be away. I'll alert Kidder to this one (and copy your message) to see if he can figure it out.

Keep trying, we miss your sharp wit!!

What I have done now is to delete the clock, as it may be that you couldn't see the Chatbox which was below it Chad. Try again as soon as you can and we will go on from there.

At first I thought 'wonderful' many thanks (to you both) the 'clock' has gone and the 404 error, haven't looked for the chat room yet but got booted on my first reply and had to log in again! Sad
Maybe in this wonderful world of computers somebody some day will come up with the answer. Sad
I hope you are both well (whilst I've got access i'll milk it) and OC hope you've got sorted with your carpets and things. Very Happy I am probably booted by this time because got distracted by the tellie but will copy and paste and hope it gets to you. Hey Pinky 11877

It worked!

Kim if you see this can you tell me what your browser is please? Is it Internet Explorer or Firefox.?
I have emailed you and sent PMs did you recieve them?
Also you mention the clock. I can't understand how you could see the clock and none of the other things.
With regard to being "booted out", have you set your "cookies" to be allowed?
Have you downloaded the Adobe Flash program?
Have you set the "Allow HTML" to yes in your "Profile"--"Preferences"

On the off-chance that there's something nasty in your woodpile PC .....

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=8526104
The latest update of this tool checks your computer for infection by specific, prevalent malicious software and helps to remove it.

Click on the URL and download / run the tool - that's this month's version.

You may be on the right track there Chas, Kim had problems on the other board as well which would indicate either malware and/or browser settings as the cause of the problem?

Thanks Kidder,
I remember last time this happened it was something in my profile that was wrong and Chas helped me out then. John I think you are referring to the same one?
Chas I shall also download the other as you suggested and go from there.
Thanks for all your help my friends and hope to get chatting real soon. Very Happy

On logging in tonight was sent down the 'bogey hole' again 404 error! Sad

Thanks F.
It's just a little simple thing that nobody can put their finger on but is so frustrating! I shall try Kidders suggestion in the morning. Too tired now. Goodnight all and thanks for your help. Very Happy

Just a thought (hope it gets to you) the less people who are in gives me more time to post. When it's busy in here I have no chance! Sad

Hi All,
Have replied to Kidders PM today (wow....been in ages!) and sent all the info he asked for.
I came across the Techni thread started by Chas and think my answer lies there but will wait for Kidders reply before fiddling with settings that I'm not to sure about. Hopefully I'll be back in full swing soon.

Hi Chad. The info you sent is all OK. So you will have to follow Chas' instructions to enable scripts, so that you can see the Chatbox.
To see the the videos and other things you will have to download and install Adobe Shockwave Flash as outlined previously.
We will get you there eventually K.
