OK, here's another clue...it's an island somewhere off the Peloponnese.....

Is it Sapientza Lighthouse?

Yay! Nice one Wendy, yes it is Sapienza island lighthouse!

Worth a visit if you are ever in the Finikounda/Methoni area...they run boat trips and it isn't far. Nice little beach with a great view of Methoni town and castle across the turquoise water of Methoni Strait, and the island's goat herd comes to the beach to welcome you and search for spare sandwiches!!

Sapienza has its own micro climate. You can take a walk to the centre of the island and find lots of unusual plants (for Greece) growing happily. It is also an island for hunting goats and wildfowl, just for two months of the year in winter, strictly controlled by the Government I believe.

I think this water comes down from the mountains, goes under the promenade
to the beach and out to sea. Sorry don't know the name of the road or taverna.


It's  on that hill I first met O C and Pam, at the time I recognised his hat!!!

You're right Jean! The water does come down from the mountains and across the beach but it isn't the one by the Mango, it's further along. Anyway, this road is indeed in Stoupa, where, in summer, all the traffic goes out to the main road when the promenade is closed during the evening. As you can see, in winter it sometimes becomes a gushing river!!

(Not sure if OC still wears his hat, I haven't seen him in it lately!! Kidder had one similar...... )
