Don`t you remember a man with a long lighted stick lighting the gas lights in the street ?
Or am I just really old ?

When I first started work as a Solicitors Articled Clerk, I used to work a lot in the various Inns of Court in London, where, until the 60`s they still employed lamplighters

I walked through what I think was an Inns of Court area, near the Temple tube station. It's an interesting part of London... but I didn't see any gas lamps!  :lol
