Roy Orbison
He would have been 75 last week had he not tragically died of a heart attack aged just 52. Last night BBC4 did a tribute night including a live concert where his backing group where some pretty amazing musicians in their own right - the likes of Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jennifer Warnes and K D Lang plus others.
This was the finale of the concert

Great, thanks for that John. I like Roy Orbison (and Springsteen and the rest) and I don't know how I missed the programme (I'd probably OD'd on the Royal Wedding!).

That was without doubt the best rendition of that song I have ever heard. It made my spine tingle, and these days it takes a lot to do that. Absolutely faultless.
Thanks John, I have download that for future listening.

Yay!
I well remember The Big O in Worcester in the early 60's on tour with The Beatles. Have been a fan ever since. Thanks John!

Hope somebody recorded it for us back home! We're both big fans of The Big O.
