It was 1969 I believe Chris. They played on the roof of the Apple studios in Saville Row.
There was an album called the 'The Complete Rooftop Concert' with 22 tracks on it, so this video is only a snippet really.

That's a blast from the past Jim! I was working quite nearby in New Bond Street at the time and I remember wishing that I'd known it was happening so I could have gone and watched.

I remember it well too, final year at Uni.
This was pretty good too, especially with the police trying to shut it down, fabulous driving track.

That was pretty good. I didn't see any old geezers in overcoat and trilby, smoking a pipe though.

Re: Anyone remember this?
OMG!! I've just watched the Beatles clip (it happened just before I arrived in London in 1969 - doesn't look very swinging though, does it) - and right at the beginning, in the right of the shot with a white collar, smoking a cigar is Michael Lindsay-Hogg. I was his assistant on Professional Foul and The Seagull when I was at the Beeb. He's been in the news recently as he is almost certainly the illegitimate son of Orson Welles (actually, if you could see him properly, you'd see there's no doubt at all). His mother, Geraldine Fitzgerald, always denied it, but another of OW's children has written a biog of him and mentions Michael, so he's going to have a dna test (so it said in the paper a couple of months ago) to find out. He used to direct Ready Steady Go and was very friendly with the Beatles - also directed the film for Mull of Kintyre - so I guess it's not too surprising he's there. I got a real shock - a nice one.
