Sorry no, not Naxos but I seem to remember you might have been here - but I could be wrong!!

We passed through Mykonos on route to and from Naxos but that's the sum total of our Cycladean exploits.

Can't find a beach that looks too much like this. Have a couple of ideas but will let someone else have a go.

It has been built up a tad!! and there are now rush covered sun umbrellas from what I have seen, but the taverna at the far end is just as it always was!!

Correct Lilian, used to be a very quiet out of the way place, one taverna, a mile to the nearest mini market, a fishing bay really. They seem to have removed all the little mooring piers and cleared a lot of the rocks in the water and imported some sand LOL

This was where I thought, also. I was a bit confused at the lack of jetties and rocks in the water but guess the tourists didn't like them!!

Suspect the tourists of today would not have liked the antics of some of the locals years ago - we loved them!!!

We once spent 2 days watching about six chaps trying to work out how to get a large inboard engine out of a boat and onto shore without beaching the boat, after about 4 hours they succeeded!! They then stripped down the engine on the beach and rebuilt it, presumably with sand lubrication, and then repeated the Fred Carno re-enactment, getting the engine back in the boat!! It still would not start LOL

Gave us hours of pleasure just watching and more than a few laughs , and yes, there was rather a large pool of oil left on the sand - but it was the Greece we all loved!!

It was certainly the Greece we loved, not too much of that left now, I'm afraid. Maybe we should all pool our tales and write a book?
