A sort of verbal where in Greece.........

Do the dashes correspond with letters?

The dashes do correspond (assuming I counted properly), but to a thoroughfare name rather then the place itself.

...and not Fiskardo.

Could it be Porto Carras, Halkidiki?

OK ta. It is obviously a place to which I have not been, as the phrase does not appear in the 'Pits R US' brochure.


However I shall suggest Patras as the place. I have no idea as to the thoroughfare

The seafront area/thoroughfare is known as "Bouboulinas" and the quote is from The Rough Guide.

It may come as a surprise.

I'm struggling with this, had a look at my big fold out map of Greece, pored over Google earth and I'm still none the wiser.

Let's see.............
All the gaps relate to the actual size of the words.

The first word, of three letters, is often found in northern Greece, in front of the placename.

The village is actually is on a generally southern facing coast with a view towards the island to the east.

The village is situated 19 kms to the west of a coastal town

The name of the gulf has connotations of freedom

mmm I think you'd better put me out of misery!

The only thing I'm confident is about is Nea, and the only possibility I've come up with is Nea Peramos near Kavala but that doesn't fit with the other clue - as fot the Gulf, the only Gulf I can think of is the Gulf in my knowledge.

But John that is the place!

(As far as I can ascertain the gulf mentioned, 'Eleftheres', translates to 'The Free')
