Whilst doing our around Durham today as it was so hot so decided to remove my shirt, Marion immediately stepped 5 paces behind me, I asked her what was wrong, she replied I believe you should change your religion, I thought the sun had got to her, but gullible me said why, she said you look like a BUDDA ha, seems a nice way of saying I needed to loose a few lbs!

World Cup a Cunning Plan!

Today I accidentally came up with a cunning plan to watch all the World cup matches without getting distracted, Today Marion was at the beauty parlour getting the monthly MOT on her trotters, I was to meet her after at the supermarket to assist with the weekly big shop, l arrived 30 mins early, and had a think about the best way to pass away the time, I thought maybe if I sit crossed legged on the floor with my cap in front of me , I may get a few pounds to supplement my pension.

So I went for a coffee to ponder my plan, I duly met up with Marion and asked her what would she do if she saw me begging, She replied that she would walk by me and not speak to me for weeks and weeks, RESULT all I have to do now is get the timing right to implement the plan, GOD KNOWS WHY SHE PUTS UP WITH ME,

Been watching the "D-Day70: The Heroes Return" very moving, so sad the Normandy Veterans Association will close down later this year as all Association do!

WE've been watching it too Richie, and we will also be watching with interest the BBC2 Programme at 9.30 this evening about the follow-up to the D-Day landings.

Pete's Dad was part of this follow-up force. He landed in Normandy in July 44, just after Pete was born, and sadly was killed early in August at Mont Pincon, just before the battle for Caen. He never saw Pete, although he knew about his birth.
Tragic for the family, but we are hoping to learn a bit more about the circumstances by watching this programme.

It must be so hard for Pete all of this! a mixed bag of emotions of being proud of his father on one hand and great sadness that he never knew him at all...

That is what is so sad about it all the devastation that war brings on individual families not only at the time but generation afterwards robbed of a Husband, Father, Granddad and in some cases Great Granddad...

We own that generation so much and they ask for so little

Double sided tape just like women use of their dresses, would have to use double sided carpet tape on mine that big.  Very Happy

Just thinking (as you do) wouldn't it look more natural if the bloke didn't wax, just a thought

You would think weighing the suitcases for holiday would be child's play

So Marion is in the utility room with the scales...

Marion: What is the weight we can take love!

Me: 20kgs

Marion: Bloody hell these scales aren't working

Me: What

Marion: THESE SCALES ARE NOT WORKING

Me: Have you changed the batteries

Marion: Yes of course I have I said that!

Me: Ok keep your hair on! (I walk into the utility room) right start again by turning off the scales and redoing it again

Marion: you don't half take me for a idiot!

Me: Smirk but say nothing (wise move)

Marion: Goes through the A to Z of weighing the suitcases looks at me and say "there you are the scales arnt working it say zero"

Me: Mmmm It says zero love as you have the wheels of the suitcase either side of the scales so the suitcase is not even touching the scales DOH  :123:

Marion: Oh ya

Me: Chuckle to myself
