Funny Ads, Signs & Website Wording
Just a thought - have you seen any funny ads, signs and website wording recently? Any you would like to share? No naming and shaming though! I've never posted a new topic, so I hope this makes you laugh. Here are three I have seen during Autumn 2012:
"Leak & Potato Soup" - local cafe - surprisingly only one portion left!
"Winter Brakes" - Travel & Estate Agency Website - maybe they will give advice on careful driving?
"...bare with us...." - New website (being developed) for a Holiday Park - do we really want to stay there?!

DOG FOR SALE - eats anything - fond of children.
FOR SALE - ANTIQUE DESK - suitable for lady, with thick legs and large drawers.
Try SHEER STOCKINGS! Designed for fancy dress but so serviceable that lots of women wear nothing else... ...

Oh dear me!!
Incidently, the Winter Brakes of my first post has now been changed to Winter Breakes. Please amend to Breaks - other than that, your website is great!!

The problem with "inclusivity" or the tale of the dyslexic sign-writer ....

Oh dear....the top one reminds me of (and this is a genuine true story) of when I used to work in hotels. One of my colleagues had a name badge which included her job title - Receptionsit!

Re: Funny Ads, Signs & Website Wording
Then there is.......
Well, at least a dorm room at the University of Alabama has found its constipated-looking, grammatically challenged sorority girl. This passionately misspelled indictment of the commander-in-chief, which appears to have been scrawled on a discarded pizza box (the official protest medium of college students) makes a pretty effective case for Mitt Romney, but an even better case against Romney's plan to slash the education budget. Come on, America. This girl is one more cut language arts program away from having the linguistic skills of a Chick-Fil-A cow.

@Weneki32
The voice-over says:
"SCS, the sofa carpet specialists."
I still have no idea what a sofa carpet is but I am positive that is what he says.

A few years ago, I came across ther following sign at a field-gate:
My poor old mutt had a nervous breakdown!

Re: Funny Ads, Signs & Website Wording
Thanks for your reply Chris .
How about this extract from a well known TV/Nature website a few years ago:
"Sugar - You can make up a sugary solution for moths which they will come and feed on instead of flowers. Simply heat cola in a pan then add brown sugar and black treacle until everything has dissolved. Let the mixture cool and then at dusk paint it onto tree trunks or posts. You'll then be able to see the moths feeding at night with a torch."
I don't know about you but I have never seen a moth with a torch!

Re: Funny Ads, Signs & Website Wording
No, it's not an age thing, it is a Panda Sign thing.
To cut a long story short - Issi Noho - the book was written by Keith Chatfield. Issi is a Panda with Magical powers. He lives in a crate, camouflaged in branches - on the crate is written:
THIS SIDE UP
USE NO HOOKS
However the branches cover the majority of the wording so only:
IS SI
NO HO
is showing as a sign above his door! So that's how he got his name!
